New tariffs have been launched for paid parking in St. Petersburg
New tariffs for paid parking started operating in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, October 15. The cost now depends not only on the category of transport, but also on the degree of congestion in the parking lot.
The central districts of the city were divided into four tariff zones, writes Delovoy Peterburg. According to Alexandra Bakhmutskaya, deputy chairman of the transport Committee, thanks to new approaches to calculating fees, it will be possible to reduce the level of loading of parking space in the historical center of the city, relieve the busiest streets and distribute traffic flows.
In addition, with the help of these changes, the authorities expect to reduce the number of cars that run through in search of a free parking space and increase the turnover of parking spaces. The goal is to ensure that the level of parking space utilization does not exceed 70-85%.
In the future, tariffs may rise and fall depending on the load level, writes 78.ru .
Earlier, on October 7, it was reported that a new online service for checking and paying fines for parking violations was launched at Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg. To check for unpaid fines before traveling to the airport, you need to enter the car number in a special form on the website. If there is a fine, the system will offer to pay it off online. After successful payment, entry restrictions will be lifted within an hour.
