The Moskvich automobile plant plans to begin large-scale assembly of the new M70 model by the end of 2025. This was reported on October 15 by Vedomosti, citing a source familiar with the company's plans and one of the brand's dealers.

An interlocutor in a large dealer holding company said that Moskvich plans to assemble the first cars of the new model in December, and deliveries to the dealer network will begin in early 2026. According to the newspaper, the Chinese concern SAIC has become the new partner of the Russian automobile plant.

As the Chinese Cars portal reported earlier this fall, the Moskvich M70 model has already been certified and received Vehicle Type Approval (OTT), allowing for mass sales in the Russian Federation. The car is based on the MG HS crossover, the Chinese-British MG brand is part of the SAIC concern.

Previously, the Chinese company JAC was a permanent project of the Moskvich automobile plant, and crossovers with indexes 3 and 8, as well as liftback number 6, were produced on the basis of its cars.

Earlier, on October 7, it was reported that certification of the new Moskvich M90 crossover had begun in Russia. It will be produced in cooperation with the Chinese SAIC concern, based on the MG RX9 model, which is focused on export markets.
