New clashes occurred on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The Pakistani army has attacked the positions of the Taliban movement of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in Afghanistan in response to an attack on its checkpoints in the Kurram district. This was reported on October 14 by the PTV News channel.
"Another post of the Afghan Taliban and a tank position were destroyed in the Kurram sector," the publication says.
In response to the attacks, the Pakistani army destroyed one of the checkpoints and a firing position with a tank. During the clashes, one of the high-ranking commanders of the Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist group was eliminated.
TOLO news reported on October 10 that at least five soldiers were killed and two others were injured as a result of the escalation between the two countries. It was clarified that the Afghan forces also captured two military posts in Pakistan.
Later, on October 12, the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced the completion of the operation launched on the evening of October 11 on the border with Pakistan. The Afghan Air Force's airstrike on Pakistan's positions in the city of Lahore became known a day earlier. This act was, as specified, a response to recent Pakistani shelling of Afghan territory.
On the same day, Afghan official Zabiullah Mujahid said that 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 30 others were injured during a clash with the Afghan military. Later, the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced the completion of the operation launched on the evening of October 11 on the border with Pakistan.
