Cubs will not be removed from their natural habitat in Kamchatka.
Three cubs living with their mother in the area of the Zhirovaya base in the Kamchatka Territory will not be taken away from their natural habitat. This was announced on October 15 by the Ministry of Forestry and Hunting of the region.
It is noted that this decision was made jointly with the volunteers of the Kamchatka animal protection organization "Dog Barbos" during a working meeting.
To date, the cubs have not harmed the people who were on the territory of the base, the animals behave adequately within the framework of the environment.
An analysis of the situation showed that a "bear family" of a seven-year-old big dipper and three young cubs periodically approaches the territory of the base. A bear and one female bear cub do not enter the perimeter of the camp, but constantly keeps visual contact with the cubs. Two male bears show interest in people and run out to play on the camp grounds. In the evening, the bear takes the cubs deeper into the forest.
"The condition of the cubs is assessed as normal, there are no signs of "extreme exhaustion"...> The cubs are visually monitored up to the time they stay in the den. The bear family has a good chance to go into winter sleep on their own," the department said on the VKontakte social network.
Earlier, on June 6, in Transbaikalia, a camera trap installed in the forest of the Krasnochikoy district captured a bear with a baby bear. The camera trap recorded how the little bear follows its mother and explores the surrounding area.
