Remez's doctor spoke about the risks of severe toxicosis of pregnant women
In severe toxicosis, when a pregnant woman vomits more than 10 times a day, hospitalization is required. About this on October 15, "Gazeta.Ru" was told by gynecologist-endocrinologist, member of the Russian Association of Human Reproduction Elena Remez.
According to the doctor, early toxicosis occurs in most women in the first trimester and can significantly worsen their well-being.
"Sometimes it's not just a temporary discomfort, but a serious problem affecting a woman's physical and emotional state," the specialist noted.
Remez explained that mild toxicosis is accompanied by vomiting up to four times a day, moderate — up to 10, and severe — more than 10. In the latter case, treatment in a hospital setting with intravenous medication is required. The doctor also recommended that people with mild forms of toxicosis follow a drinking regime, eat small portions up to six times a day and give preference to protein products.
"If the measures do not help, and the condition worsens, drug therapy is used. Drugs with a combination of pyridoxine and doxylamine, created specifically for the treatment of toxicosis of pregnant women, have proven themselves well," she added.
Earlier, on September 22, reproductive therapist Gunai Salayeva told about the myth of one hundred percent success of the IVF procedure and that it does not correspond to reality. According to her, the probability of pregnancy depends on many factors, including a woman's age and the quality of the embryos.
