Putin and Mirziyoyev discussed strengthening relations between Russia and Uzbekistan
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev discussed the development of strategic partnership and relations between the two countries during a telephone conversation. This was announced by Mirziyoyev's press service on October 14.
The report notes that the parties discussed "issues of further development and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance in the context of the practical implementation of agreements at the highest level."
The Presidents noted the dynamics of the growth of investment, trade and economic cooperation between the countries, as well as the implementation of cooperation projects at the regional level. In addition, they discussed the expansion of humanitarian ties in the field of culture and education, including in the field of engineering personnel training.

In addition, the head of state expressed confidence in the further expansion of Russian-Uzbek relations in all areas. On September 11, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported that Moscow and Tashkent were approving a number of aspects for Russian citizens to enter Uzbekistan using internal passports. On October 9, Mirziyoyev announced that in the coming days the construction of the first reactor plant of the future nuclear power plant (NPP) in the Jizzakh region will begin.
