US President Donald Trump announced that on October 17, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky plans to ask him to supply Tomahawk missiles. The American leader said this at a meeting with Argentine President Javier Miley on October 14 at the White House.

"The president will arrive on October 17th, and I know what he will say. He wants a gun. He would like to get a Tomahawk," Trump said.

Jokingly, he added that the missiles could be used against the opposition in Argentina.

"In this country, Tomahawk could be used against the opposition. I wouldn't do that, I'm much better," he stressed.

Earlier in the day, the Financial Times newspaper reported that the United States could supply Ukraine with 20 to 50 Tomahawk missiles. As the newspaper notes with reference to the director of the defense program of the Center for a New American Security, Stacy Pettijohn, such a transfer will not radically change the course of the conflict.
