The reason for the dismissal on October 15 of the head of the Kinelsky district, Yuri Zhidkov, by the governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, was an improperly maintained stone erected in memory of the participants of the Great Patriotic War.

Fedorishchev discovered the stone standing under a tree during an inspection of the territory. At the same time, the memorial plaque on it was severely damaged.

"An obelisk will be erected at this place for our fellow countrymen who participated in the Great Patriotic War," the inscription on the object read.

However, Zhidkov told the governor that it was "just a stone." After such a response, Fedorishchev dismissed the head of the district.
