American R&B singer Di Angelo has died.

American R&B singer Di Angelo died at the age of 52 in New York. This was reported by Variety magazine on October 14.

"After a long and courageous battle with cancer, it is with a broken heart that we announce that Michael Di Angelo Archer, known to his fans around the world as Di Angelo, passed away today, October 14th," the family said in a statement.

During his career, the musician has released three albums: the debut Brown Sugar in 1995, Voodoo in 2000 and his latest album Black Messiah in 2014. For the last two songs, the singer has received four Grammy Awards.
