Nutritionist and nutritionist Roman Pristansky told how to strengthen the immune system in the autumn period.
In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, October 14, he noted that vitamin C is not a panacea. The specialist recalled that the scientist, who proved its benefits as an antioxidant and a means to strengthen the immune system, received the Nobel Prize for this, and a few years later — the second, for refuting its effectiveness as an immunomodulator.
According to Pristansky, this example clearly shows that there is no magic pill for immunity, and a variety of nutrition plays a key role. He stressed that there should always be fruits or berries on the table, because the more diverse the diet, the more macro- and micronutrients the body receives, which helps it easier to tolerate viral loads.
The expert also dispelled the myth of the uselessness of frozen berries. He explained that shock-frozen products retain almost all useful substances and are excellent for a healthy diet. Pristansky stressed that strong autumn immunity does not depend on expensive supplements, but on a balanced diet, including both fresh and frozen foods.
