- The Museum of Russian Impressionism has opened an exhibition about the life of Gilyarovsky.
An exhibition about the life and work of writer and journalist Vladimir Gilyarovsky has opened at the Moscow Museum of Russian Impressionism. The footage from the October 14 opening is published by Izvestia.
"Vladimir Alekseevich Gilyarovsky, I am sure, is a significant figure for any Muscovite. Now, when we announce our exhibition, I keep hearing: "Oh, how I love him!" Indeed, many people love Gilyarovsky. And this fascination with Gilyarovsky did not escape us either. That's the answer to why we decided to talk about it in more detail," said Yulia Petrova, director of the museum.
According to Petrova, the task of creating an exhibition about the writer was not easy for the museum, because Gilyarovsky was not an artist, collector or art critic. Nevertheless, the curator of the exhibition, Anastasia Vinokurova, found a solution by linking Gilyarovsky's life to the context of time.
On three floors of the museum there is an exposition that traces Gilyarovsky's path — from his youthful desire to become a boatman to the last years, which coincided with the period of the first half of the 1930s, when the subway was being built in the capital. The exhibition tells about Gilyarovsky, his friends and about Moscow, to which he was devoted.
On October 13, the Victory Museum in Moscow hosted the opening of the exhibition "Shoulder to Shoulder", dedicated to cooperation between Russia and the DPRK. The exhibition is dedicated to the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and the DPRK, which took place on October 12, 1948. The project was created on behalf of the Russian Ministry of Culture. The exhibition includes about 150 authentic objects and more than 100 digitized photographic documents from the collections of the Victory Museum and eight museums and archives in Russia.
