More than 33,000 people have enrolled in foster parent schools in the Moscow region.

In the Moscow Region, more than 33,000 people have completed their education at foster parent schools. This is reported by the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya with reference to the Ministry of Social Development of the region.

There are 48 schools in the region. About 1.5 thousand people study there per year. The course follows a single standard. It includes 80 hours of basic training and additional thematic modules.

Classes at foster parent schools are free of charge, both in person and online. Completing the training is a mandatory part of obtaining custody or adoption.

The ministry clarified that more than 3 thousand foster families live in the Moscow region, in which more than 6.5 thousand children are raised.
