ATOR noted the doubled demand for New Year's tours to warmer countries

The demand of Russians for tours to countries with a warm climate for the New Year holidays has doubled compared to October last year. This was announced on October 14 by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

"The UAE, Thailand, Egypt, Vietnam and Sri Lanka are among the top 5 most booked foreign destinations for the New Year holidays," the organization's website says.

It is noted that other popular winter vacation destinations are Turkey, Maldives, Cuba, China and Indonesia.

According to forecasts of tour operators, Egypt will become the leader in demand during the New Year holidays due to affordable prices, a large selection of all-inclusive hotels and the expansion of tour operators' flight programs, ATOR added.

Earlier, on October 5, the press service of Avito Travel reported that interest in agrotourism has significantly increased in Russia. Over the past year, the demand for rental of country houses in nine key regions of this area has increased by 41%. According to Artem Kromochkin, director of the company, the Leningrad, Pskov, Nizhny Novgorod and Kaliningrad regions, as well as Buryatia and Tatarstan, are the most popular among tourists.
