The UK has opened a case against four residents of Bashkiria for kidnapping

Investigative authorities in the Republic of Bashkortostan have opened criminal cases against four local residents suspected of kidnapping, extortion and death threats. This was reported on October 14 in the Telegram channel of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"Criminal cases have been initiated against four residents of the Kugarchinsky district aged from 30 to 44 years. Depending on the role and degree of involvement of each, they are suspected of kidnapping, extortion, death threats, and hooliganism. <...> Three defendants have been charged, and another man is on the federal wanted list," the report says.

According to investigators, in January 2025, one of the accused came to the house of a 44-year-old resident of the village of Yumaguzino, where during the conflict he stabbed him in the leg and threatened to kill him. Together with another suspect, the attacker extorted money from a 19-year-old local resident, threatening violence. After the victim agreed to transfer the required amount, he was released.

In addition, in April, the 40-year-old accused threatened to kill a 57-year-old resident of Yumaguzino, demonstrating a knife, and, together with two accomplices, struck the man multiple times with his hands, feet and the butt of a rifle.

Investigators conducted searches at the places of residence of the defendants. At the request of the investigator, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the two accused. The third accused has been detained, and the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved. The fourth person involved has been put on the federal wanted list. The investigation continues to check the men's involvement in other crimes.

Earlier, on August 26, a former police officer was charged with extortion in the criminal case of kidnappings committed in Kamensk-Uralsky. It was reported that the accomplices of the ex-policeman moved the abducted to a car wash located on Karl Marx Street. There, physical violence was used against the victims of abductions. In addition, the defendants presented them with property claims.
