The court seized the property of General Kuznetsov for 500 million rubles.

The Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow has imposed a security seizure on the assets of the former head of the main personnel directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yuri Kuznetsov. As one of the participants in the trial told Izvestia on October 14, the value of the seized property amounted to approximately 500 million rubles.

It is noted that the trial took place behind closed doors at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, which caused confusion on the part of the defense. Kuznetsov's lawyer Alexei Pershin noted that the consideration of a claim for the conversion of property into state revenue should be open, since it is about the origin of property, and not about state secrets.

"If the prosecutor's office really considers him to be corrupt, then open the process," he stressed.

In May 2024, the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case against Kuznetsov for receiving a particularly large bribe (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the investigation, as head of the 8th Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, he received a bribe in the form of a land plot and an apartment building from "representatives of commercial structures for committing certain actions in their favor." Shortly after, he was arrested.

In October of the same year, the court seized 29 accounts in three Russian banks and six of Kuznetsov's real estate properties. They also seized a plot of land in Krasnogorsk, the village of Obushkovo in the Istra district of the Moscow region, a house in the latter, land in Krasnodar and a three-story house with an area of more than 1.1 thousand square meters located on it, as well as an apartment on Yartsevskaya Street in Moscow.

Later, on August 27, 2025, it became known that Kuznetsov's property, a collection of rare coins, and jewelry totaling about 504.8 million rubles were found during searches.
