CEO of Bioniq spoke about the advantages of expanding the tax deduction
The expansion of the tax deduction will make sports more accessible to the older generation. Bioniq CEO David Ghazaryan told Izvestia on October 14.
Earlier it became known that the tax deduction for sports will be extended to spouses and parents — the Ministry of Finance included the corresponding proposal in the draft budget for 2026-2027.
"Previously, you could get a deduction for yourself and children, but now it has been extended to spouses and parents. Who most often buys season tickets for parents or a partner? People aged 30-45 who take care of their loved ones. Now the government is essentially saying, "Well done, we will return some of this money to you." This makes sports more accessible to the older generation," Ghazaryan said.
According to him, such a measure will have a positive impact on business. Fitness clubs will start creating more expensive but thoughtful family products, which will help ensure stable workload and predictable revenue.
"This measure perfectly whitewashes the market. The deduction will be given only for services from officially operating and certified clubs. If the club is "grey", you will not be able to make a deduction. This pushes the entire fitness business to work in the white," Ghazaryan explained.
He stressed that the expansion of the tax deduction is an urgent and correct measure that will help make sports the norm and create a culture in which caring for family health becomes a natural part of life.
On October 9, it was reported that pensioners want to be granted the right to a tax deduction from interest on bank deposits. It was noted that the draft law proposes to provide such categories of taxpayers with the opportunity to take advantage of social, property tax deductions and long-term savings deductions when determining the amount of tax on bank interest.
