Anti-Russian foreign agents enjoy the support of representatives of the European Parliament (EP) and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), together involving the relocators in activities against the Russian Federation. On October 14, State Duma deputy Vasily Piskarev, chairman of the Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, commented to Izvestia on the criminal case against Mikhail Khodorkovsky, ex-head of Yukos (included in the register of foreign agents) and members of the Anti-War Committee of Russia (AKR, recognized as an undesirable organization in the territory of the Russian Federation).

"Defectors are accepted by Western politicians, based on their testimony as "witnesses" and "experts" they denigrate Russia in the international arena and impose sanctions against our country, in return they give grants to traitors and provide air," he said.

According to Piskarev, members of the AKR organization, in particular Khodorkovsky, openly support Ukraine and call for the overthrow of power in Russia. He is confident that the members of the committee are supported by the EP and PACE in order to recruit more relocators into their ranks.

The deputy considers the initiation of a criminal case on terrorism against Khodorkovsky and the AKP legitimate and justified.

On the same day, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation opened a criminal case against Khodorkovsky and 22 members of the AKP. It is noted that the Anti-War Committee of Russia includes oppositionist Mikhail Kasyanov, former Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Aleksashenko, former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov, economist Sergei Guriev, businessman Evgeny Chichvarkin, lawyer Elena Lukyanova, academician Yuri Pivovarov, political scientist Ekaterina Shulman (all recognized in Russia as foreign agents), as well as public figure Leonid Gozman, politician Vladimir Kara-Murza, chess player Garry Kasparov, actor Artur Smolyaninov (all recognized in Russia as foreign agents and included in the list of terrorists and extremists) and others.
