Soviet gymnast, three-time Olympic champion and seven-time world champion Alexander Dityatin was the greatest athlete who set the bar high for the next generation. This was announced to Izvestia on October 14 by Russian gymnast Alexei Nemov.

"This is truly a legend of world gymnastics, world sport. He was a talented man, and a wonderful gymnast. This is a really big loss for our country and for the gymnastics world as a whole. <...> He gave a lot to the next generation of gymnasts, a very good high bar," Nemov shared.

In turn, gymnast Anton Golotsutskov noted that Dityatin was a great professional who delighted people with his charisma.

"He inspired many people to play sports and did a lot of useful things in his life. It is a pity that the legends are passing away," the athlete emphasized.
