- The Moscow City Court upheld the decision on Mizulina's lawsuit against bloggers Dudu and Lebedev.
The Moscow City Court rejected the appeal of the defense of designer Artemy Lebedev and blogger Yuri Dudya (included in the register of foreign agents of the Russian Federation) against the decision of the Lefortovo Court of Moscow, which partially satisfied the claim of Ekaterina Mizulina, head of the League for Secure Internet, for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation. This was reported on October 14 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The reason for the lawsuit was Lebedev's interview with Dudu, posted on August 1, 2024, in which the designer made harsh statements about Mizulina and the organization she heads. She demanded compensation for moral damage in the amount of 10 million rubles.
On May 13, the court partially satisfied the claim: it recognized the disseminated information as untrue and discrediting the honor, dignity and business reputation of the plaintiff and ordered the defendants to remove offensive phrases from the video. The court also sought compensation for moral damage from Lebedev in the amount of 300 thousand rubles and from Dudya — 200 thousand rubles. Lebedev's lawyer, Kaloy Akhilgov, publicly stated his disagreement with the court's decision and his intention to appeal it.
