A criminal case on terrorism was opened against Khodorkovsky and members of the AKP

The Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against Mikhail Khodorkovsky, ex-head of Yukos (included in the register of foreign agents) and 22 members of the Anti-War Committee of Russia (AKR, recognized as an undesirable organization in the territory of the Russian Federation). This was announced on October 14 at the department's Public Relations Center.

According to the FSB, a criminal case was initiated under Article 278 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Forcible seizure of power or forcible retention of power") and Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Organization of a terrorist community and participation in it"), as well as Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia ("Public calls for terrorist activities") in relation to Khodorkovsky.

It is noted that the "Anti-War Committee of Russia" includes oppositionist Mikhail Kasyanov, public figure Leonid Gozman, former Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Aleksashenko, former State Duma deputy Dmitry Gudkov, economist Sergei Guriev, entrepreneur Evgeny Chichvarkin, lawyer Elena Lukyanova, academician Yuri Pivovarov, political scientist Ekaterina Shulman (all recognized in Russia as foreign agents), and There are also politician Vladimir Kara-Murza, chess player Garry Kasparov, actor Artur Smolyaninov (all recognized as foreign agents in Russia and included in the list of terrorists and extremists) and others.

The movement was established in February 2022. His goal is to forcibly seize power and change the constitutional order in Russia. So, on April 30, 2023, ACR adopted in Berlin the founding document of the movement, which declares the need to eliminate the current government of Russia.

The FSB recalled that Khodorkovsky and other founders of AKR are financing Ukrainian paramilitary nationalist units recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation, as well as recruiting individuals to these formations for their subsequent involvement in the implementation of the plan to seize power in the Russian Federation by force.

"Currently, investigative actions are being carried out against M. Khodorkovsky and his associates. The persons involved in their activities will be held accountable in accordance with Russian law," the FSB Central Control Center said in a statement.

The day before, it was reported that the Russian Interior Ministry had put the politician Vladimir Kara-Murza on the wanted list. It is noted that Kara-Murza is wanted under the article of the Criminal Code.
