The American company SpaceX is conducting the 11th test launch of a prototype Starship spacecraft. The launch of the launch vehicle took place from the Starbase spaceport in Texas at 18:24 local time (2:24 Moscow time), the broadcast is available on the company's X page.

The ship is trying to get eight simulators of the Starlink communications system satellites out of the cargo hold and at the same time test improvements aimed at returning the prototype to the launch pad. The flight is expected to last about an hour, with flooding in the waters of the Indian Ocean.

"Starship will once again attempt to complete the task of delivering simulators to orbit and testing new return systems to Earth," the company noted.

Earlier, on September 20, The New York Times reported that due to delays at SpaceX, the United States may not be able to land astronauts on the Moon in 2027 and cede leadership to China. The Starship project has faced serious problems: of the last four tests, three ended in explosions, and the fuel test was postponed to at least 2026.
