The State Duma proposed to criminalize the trafficking of vapes, similar to the trafficking of narcotic substances. This appeal was sent to the State Duma on October 14 by Dmitry Gusev, first deputy head of the Fair Russia — For Truth faction, and Elena Drapeko, deputy head of the faction.

"It is proposed to consider the possibility of amending the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which would establish clear measures of responsibility for the manufacture, storage, distribution and use of vapes and liquids to them, by analogy with the offences in the field of drug trafficking," the TASS news agency quoted the document.

It is also noted that there is a need to form a system of responsibility for the illegal circulation of vapes.

According to officials, this will reduce the spread of dangerous substances, more actively combat addiction and influence the cultural education of Russian society.
