A group of deputies led by Yaroslav Nilov has developed a bill that will allow Russians to change clinics at least once every three months instead of the current limit of once a year. The document will be submitted to the State Duma today, October 14.

"My colleagues and I have developed an initiative that offers patients the opportunity to change clinics every three months instead of once every 12 months. A change of residence, a shortage of specialists or the burden on doctors should be taken into account by the system," Nilov told TASS.

Dmitry Gusev, First Deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee, stressed that shortening the time limit for choosing a medical organization would allow citizens to respond more quickly to changes in the healthcare system, including relocation or job change.

"This will increase citizens' satisfaction with the quality of medical care," he said.

Earlier, on September 25, Yulia Drozhzhina, a member of the State Duma Committee, announced that all Russian citizens can add information about their blood type and Rh factor to their passports for free. This mark facilitates the provision of emergency medical care and is provided through polyclinics or blood transfusion stations within the framework of compulsory medical insurance.
