On October 14, US President Donald Trump called Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan a "compatriot" or "friend" of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during a summit on resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

"Where is your compatriot?" Trump asked Aliyev.

The American leader added that the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, which lasted for more than 30 years and resulted in tense relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, was allegedly resolved in an hour.

It is noted that Trump used the word "compatriot" in his phrase, which translates as "compatriot" or "friend."
