Abbas announced the need to consolidate the peace summit on the Gaza Strip
A summit on the Gaza strip was held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas noted that it was a very important meeting on the Palestinian issue. This became known on October 13.
"We want this movement to be consolidated by two important things. First, work on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which requires Arab and international efforts. Secondly, peace is the consolidation of peace, for which an international conference will be held this year," RIA Novosti quoted the President of Palestine as saying.
Abbas noted that major issues were discussed at the summit, including a cease-fire, food and the withdrawal of Israeli troops.
Earlier in the day, at the Sharm el-Sheikh summit, representatives of Egypt, the United States, Qatar and Turkey signed an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip. According to the American leader Donald Trump, this Gas deal is "the largest and most difficult."
The Reuters news agency reported that Trump called October 13 a great and wonderful day. He also stressed that the main goal of his foreign policy is to end wars, and he has proved this by ending a number of international conflicts since returning to the White House.
