Pavel Dorofeev, a Russian forward of the Vegas Golden Knights hockey club, was recognized as the first star of the week in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was announced on October 13 on the league's website.

"Vegas Golden Knights right winger Pavel Dorofeev <...> has been named the Three Stars of the NHL by GEICO for the week ending October 12," the statement said.

It is noted that the hockey player became the NHL leader in goals (5) and goals in the majority (4), which allowed the Vegas Golden Knights to score four out of six possible points in the standings. For Dorofeev, this award was the first in his career.

The second star was awarded to American Shane Pinto, who scored 5 points (1+4) in four games. The third prize-winner was also Russian goalkeeper Sergey Bobrovsky, who blocked 2.5% of shots and was able to help HC Florida to win three times in three matches.

On October 10, sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev spoke about the best football player in his opinion. According to him, this is the midfielder of the Moscow football club (FC) Lokomotiv and the Russian national football team, Alexander Batrakov, as the athlete scored the decisive goal in the match between the national teams of Russia and Iran.
