The mayor of Odessa spoke about the possible deprivation of Ukrainian citizenship.
On October 13, Odessa Mayor Gennady Trukhanov denied rumors about Russian citizenship.
"I have never had Russian citizenship and do not have it today. <...> I have been heading a multimillion—dollar Ukrainian city for 12 years, which means that I have passed the maximum levels of all possible checks for a Ukrainian official, including for any other citizenship other than Ukrainian," Trukhanov wrote in his Telegram.- the channel.
Earlier in the day, Trukhanov announced that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky would take part in the work of the commission, during which the issue of depriving the mayor of Odessa of citizenship due to the alleged presence of his Russian passport would be raised. In a video posted on the mayor's Telegram channel, he says that since 2014, such threats against him have appeared regularly, and also adds that he considers them as another provocation.
