Sergunina spoke about the support of NGOs in Moscow through grants
More than 1.1 thousand NGO projects have received grants from the Mayor of Moscow in five years, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital. The most popular destinations are "Youth of Moscow", "Our Heritage", "Healthy lifestyle and sports".
"Over the past five years alone, the competition has received more than 4.3 thousand applications. The winners were the authors of 1,135 initiatives," Sergunina said. She noted that the most popular nominations were "Youth of Moscow", "Our Heritage", "Healthy lifestyle and sports".
Every year, organizations that are ready to unleash their talents, introduce them to a healthy lifestyle, and preserve the memory of generations receive support at the Moscow Mayor's grant competition for socially oriented NGOs. They hold creative meetings and sporting events, talk about the achievements of the country and family values.
Thus, the autonomous non-profit organization Youth Initiative won in the nomination "Healthy lifestyle and sport" with the project "Football in every yard". In the spring of 2026, the ANO will begin holding open matches for Muscovites aged 16-35. The competitions will be held in seven administrative districts of the capital. The invited judges will explain the rules of the game to the participants and monitor their implementation.
The project "Cultural Codes of Young Moscow" of the Happy Family Consulting Center also received a grant. The funds will be used for events in 2026 dedicated to commemorations and supporting family values.
The project in support of the families of the participants of the SVO is implemented by the charity foundation "Give Sunshine". In March, the foundation will launch a creative needlework course for women, where they will be able to learn sewing and knitting. The final event will be a fashion show: the participants of the project will walk along the carpet in outfits that they will sew themselves in class.
In total, 229 best projects were selected from more than 700 applications in the 2025 competition. Almost a third of the laureates received grants for the first time.
