Rescuers told when they would resume the search for the Usoltsevs and their little daughter, who disappeared in the Manskaya Loop area in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. About two weeks have passed since their disappearance, and no rescue operation is underway at the moment. It is planned to resume the search immediately after the snow cover disappears, which will ensure better visibility and efficiency of the search teams. Read more about the search results as of October 13 in the Izvestia article.

According to Grigory Sergeev, chairman of the LizaAlert volunteer search and rescue team, the resumption of searches on the territory of the Manskaya Loop depends on weather factors. The chances of finding a family can increase significantly after the snow melts, otherwise it's easy to miss something, despite the increased attention, the search engine noted.

He clarified that a stone slab with an area of 2.5 km by 1.5 km remained untested, which consists of vertically arranged stones covered with snow and ice, with large gaps between them. Sergeyev also said that if new data is received, the search will resume immediately.

What happened to the Usoltsev family

The Usoltsev family disappeared near the village of Kuturchin on September 28. Tourists went hiking near the Manskaya Loop in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, but never returned. On October 2, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported the disappearance of the spouses, 64-year-old Sergei and 48-year-old Irina Usoltseva, and their five-year-old daughter.

It is known that the route was originally planned as part of a tour group, but then the family went hiking on their own, accompanied by a corgi dog. Eyewitnesses saw two adults with a child with backpacks starting the route towards Kuturchinsky Belogorye.

Irina's friend Oksana Zhadnyuk told Izvestia that the Usoltsevs spent the night before the hike at the Geosphere base, and then went towards Mount Pinocchio. She added that they had planned to return home on the same day, but had probably changed their route, which delayed their journey.

Soon after the exit, heavy rain began to fall, which, according to rescuers, could lead to a deviation from the trail. According to another version, a man could become ill in the taiga, and a woman and a child could not get out of the forest on their own. It was also possible that the Usoltsevs had fallen into a sinkhole in the rocks. At the moment, law enforcement officers are considering an accident as the main version. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.

How the Usoltsevs' family was searched for

Since the missing did not leave accurate information about their route, this greatly complicated the search. The search operations were carried out using quadrocopters, helicopters and specialized climbing equipment in several areas. However, they were complicated by difficult terrain, low temperatures and an abundance of snow.

Over 1,550 people from nine regions of the country participated in the operations, including the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Ryazan and Kemerovo regions, the republics of Altai, Khakassia and Moscow. In total, more than 4.5 thousand km have been covered during the search.

On October 10, rescuers managed to reach the place where Sergei Usoltsev's phone signal was last recorded. Before that, the family's car was found at the foot of the mountain range. All valuables, documents, and a child's seat with toys remained in the cabin, but no traces of tourists were found.

Do the missing have a chance to survive

The probability that the Usoltsevs' family can be found alive is estimated to be extremely low. In particular, Honored Rescuer of Russia Sergey Shchetinin believes that the chances of survival are about 10%, given the low temperatures, snow, equipment of tourists and the duration of the search.

The rescuer noted that the only rescue option is if the Usoltsevs have found shelter or a winter shelter with a supply of food in a place where they have not yet been searched.

Earlier, the head of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Alexei Kulesh, said that the search for the missing Russians had been temporarily suspended in order to avoid additional risks to the health of the participants in the operation.
