"Moscow was pleased to receive reports of the successful holding of elections in the Republic of Seychelles," the message says.

They added that Russia is ready to strengthen the traditionally friendly Russian-Seychelles ties in the economic, political, humanitarian and other spheres.

It is specified that following the results of the second round of the presidential election, Patrick Ermini, a candidate from the United Seychelles party, was elected to the post of head of state.
