The plane carrying US President Donald Trump landed in Sharm el-Sheikh, where the summit on the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip will be held. Footage of the arrival on October 13 is published by Izvestia.

According to journalist Khalil Mohamed Khalil Ahmed, many heads of state are currently waiting for the American leader to celebrate the signing of the Gaza peace agreement.

"The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has informed that he will not be able to attend the summit due to the date coinciding with religious holidays," the journalist noted.

He added that earlier the Egyptian presidential administration had sent an invitation to the Israeli Prime Minister to participate.

Earlier in the day, leaders of the countries participating in the summit began arriving in Sharm el-Sheikh. It was noted that the main purpose of the event is the need to realize the American leader's vision of the region's future and put an end to the protracted conflict.

Trump announced the end of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the release of Israeli hostages by the Hamas movement and called October 13 a great and wonderful day. He also added that the main goal of his foreign policy is to end wars, and he has proved this by ending a number of international conflicts since returning to the White House.

On October 9, Israel and Hamas signed an agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages after indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. According to the agreement, the fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release all remaining hostages in exchange for prisoners held in Israel. The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 at 12:00 Moscow time.
