- A photo of Maxim Kharkin, a native of Donbass, released from captivity by Hamas, has appeared.
On October 13, the Israeli Embassy in Russia handed Izvestia a photo of Maxim Kharkin, a native of Donbass, after he was released from Hamas hostages.
The man was released earlier in the day as part of an agreement to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip.
Earlier in the day, the first group of seven Israeli hostages released by the Palestinian Hamas movement to the IDF in the Gaza Strip was handed over. The second group of 13 hostages was handed over to the Red Cross. Later, Izvestia correspondent Nikita Kulyukhin reported that those released had arrived at a hospital in Tel Aviv.
Prior to that, on October 9, Israel and Hamas signed an agreement related to a cease-fire and the release of hostages after indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. According to the agreement, the fighting must cease, and Israel must partially withdraw from Gaza. At the same time, Hamas will release all remaining hostages in exchange for prisoners held in Israel. The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 at 12:00 Moscow time.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
