The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation may return to reviewing the luxury tax rate, but not in the current fiscal year. This was announced on October 13 at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

"Taxes on luxury. You know, we raised taxes on luxury. I want to say that yes, this area can be worked out, but probably not this year, not this fiscal year," Siluanov said, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with leaders of parliamentary factions on September 18 that the idea of a luxury tax is reasonable, but in this case it is important not to overdo it. He added that when people see that their funds are going to a specific noble cause, there are no objections.
