The Russian brand Tenet was among the top five car market leaders for the first time
For the first time, the Russian automobile brand Tenet has entered the top 5 brands in terms of sales. This was reported on October 13 by the analytical agency Autostat.
Thus, according to the results of the 41st week (from October 6 to October 12), 1,689 new Tenet cars were sold in the Russian Federation. The brand took fifth place in the ranking, displacing the Chery brand (1,461 units) to sixth place, and the Tenet T4 crossover was the first to enter the top ten most popular models of the Russian car market last week, taking eighth place.
Analysts noted that the Tenet model range was created on the basis of Chery, in Russia the T4 (rebranded Tiggo 4), T7 (Tiggo 7L) and T8 (Tiggo 8 Plus) crossovers are produced under this brand. They have been produced since August at the former Volkswagen plant in the Kaluga region.
Lada leads the brand rating in the second week of October (7,122 units), followed by Haval (5,615 units), Geely (3,129 units) and Belgee (2,468 units). Changan (1,442 units), Solaris (1,296 units), Toyota (951 units) and Omoda (862 units) rounded out the top ten behind Tenet and Chery.
In just 41 weeks, 36.1 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 12.6% less than a week earlier and 1.1% lower year-on-year.
Earlier, on October 2, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that the list of cars that meet the requirements of the law on taxi localization is planned to be expanded, including models under the Haval and Tenet brands, as well as cars manufactured at Kaliningrad Avtotor.
