In Lviv, the deputy commander involved the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in performing private work

The deputy commander of one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Lviv region sent soldiers to lay paving stones and erect monuments instead of fulfilling their direct official duties. This was announced on October 13 in the official Telegram channel of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, from March to September 2025, the man sent subordinates to work at the facilities of one of the territorial communities in the Lviv region, where the employees of the enterprise, headed by his acquaintance, were actually supposed to be located.

He also involved several military personnel in carrying out repairs in his own house in the Vinnytsia region and in installing monuments on the graves of his parents.

The deputy commander was charged with abuse of office (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He was given a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to deposit 1 million hryvnias (about $ 24.1 thousand) as collateral.
