- Owners of cars of brands that have left the Russian Federation will be notified about recall campaigns.
The National Insurance Information System (NSIS) has created a service for automakers and dealers to send notifications about recall campaigns for cars. Two Japanese brands have already used the feedback distribution system, according to the NSIS message, which was received by Izvestia on October 13.
According to Nikolai Galushin, head of the NSIS, any brand can use the platform to notify car owners about reviews, and the organization is ready to cooperate, including with legacy brands. Owners of recalled cars receive an email invitation to undergo free repairs as part of a service campaign.
"A recall campaign can also be conducted for cars aged, for example, 10 years, during this time they could change several owners, and car dealers have information only on the first buyer," Galushin said.
Earlier, on October 7, Dongfeng Motor Rus announced a recall in Russia of more than 12.4 thousand trucks due to a problem with the seat belt. The Dongfeng DFH4180 (GX) truck tractors sold between January 15, 2023 and May 31, 2025 were recalled.
Prior to that, on September 8, a recall of 23 thousand Lada Niva family vehicles was announced in Russia for the installation of an emergency call system control unit. Owners of classic Niva Legends were also called to dealers to install a control unit for the inflatable airbag system.
