Callas arrived in Kiev to discuss military and financial assistance to Ukraine
On October 13, the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, arrived in Kiev on an official visit to discuss military and financial assistance to Ukraine.
"I am in Kiev today for negotiations on financial and military support and energy security of Ukraine," she wrote on her page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said on October 8 that the European Union (EU) has no new ideas regarding financial support for Ukraine, except for the use of frozen Russian assets. According to Frederiksen, the EU countries should continue to look for ways to resolve this situation.
On September 26, the European Commission (EC) proposed to provide Ukraine with a loan of 140 billion euros at the expense of frozen assets of the Russian Federation. It was noted that the EC offered to provide a loan in tranches and stated that it should be used for "defense cooperation" and other budgetary needs of Kiev.
