Specialists will restore Pavilion No. 62 "Nature Protection" at VDNH to its historical appearance. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced the beginning of the restoration of the facades and roof of the building in his channel in the IACH.

"Special attention will be paid to the distinctive feature of the pavilion — the facade made of glass blocks," the mayor said. The lost decorative elements will also be restored on the building, including bas-reliefs, decorative large and small vases on the parapet, wooden doors and windows. The facade will be restored to its historical color, the pavilion will become light cream, and the decorative moldings, cornices, rods, and bas-reliefs will be white.

The building was built in 1954, and it has the status of a cultural heritage site of federal significance. Initially, the pavilion was created to explore a variety of building products and typical architectural details. Later, it became the site of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation.

On August 1, VDNH celebrated its 86th anniversary. There are 49 cultural heritage sites on the territory of the exhibition. Work on the revival of VDNH began in 2014. During this time, a large—scale restoration program was implemented, within the framework of which 42 historical and cultural monuments were restored - about 90% of all heritage sites on the territory of the exhibition.
