Over the past weekend, two forest fires were extinguished in the Khabarovsk Territory. Both fires were located in the Khabarovsk region: northwest of the village of Kukan.

The fire covered a total area of 7 hectares. 36 specialists and 4 units of special equipment fought the fires. The alleged cause of the fires is a human factor, writes IA AmurMedia with reference to the press service of the governor and the regional government.

According to Vladimir Kadykov, Deputy Minister of Forestry and Timber Processing of the region, the forces and means of forest fire units are in constant readiness. The fires were quickly localized and eliminated during the day.

The agency notes that the fire season remains in the region. In some territories, there is a special regime in which fines are imposed. For citizens — from 40 to 50 thousand rubles, for officials — from 60 to 90 thousand rubles, for legal entities — from 600 thousand to 1 million rubles. Criminal liability with imprisonment for up to 10 years is provided in case of destruction or damage to forests.
