E. coli was found in a batch of red caviar in Primorye
A shipment of salmon caviar with safety violations was found in Primorsky Krai. The weight of the batch of salted salmon caviar exceeded 16 tons. The manufacturer is one of the enterprises in the region. Experts have found E. coli group bacteria in the product.
As PrimaMedia news agency clarifies with reference to the press service of the regional Rosselkhoznadzor, this is the third violation on the part of the manufacturer. In total, the volume of dangerous products amounted to 47.7 tons.
Experts evaluated the caviar according to 18 indicators of quality and safety. The presence of E. coli bacteria is regarded as a violation of sanitary standards and technological processes. According to experts, such microorganisms can survive without proper heat treatment, and their presence in food products is unacceptable.
It is possible that the infection occurred at the production stage, due to an incorrectly constructed technological chain, poor hygiene or inefficient processing of equipment.
The results of the study were recorded in the state automated veterinary control system "Vesta". A corresponding notification was sent to the manufacturer.
In the summer, the Federal Antimonopoly Service initiated 21 cases against Svetofor logistics centers in 14 regions. The reason was the presence of bonded conditions for manufacturers in supply contracts. Mass violations in the work of this network were also recorded by Rosselkhoznadzor inspections — a significant part of the samples of milk, meat, fish and products from them, chicken eggs, did not meet the quality requirements.
