The first group of seven Israeli hostages released by the Palestinian Hamas movement has been handed over to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip. This is reported by the Kan TV channel.

On October 9, Israel and Hamas signed an agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages after indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. According to the agreement, the fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release all remaining hostages in exchange for prisoners held in Israel. The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 at 12:00 Moscow time.

Later, on October 12, American leader Donald Trump announced the end of the conflict in the Gaza Strip. According to him, this moment is "really special."
