All 1,966 Palestinian prisoners who are due to be released on Monday, October 13, are ready to leave Israeli prisons. This is reported by the Reuters news agency .

On October 9, the Palestinian Hamas movement announced that about 2,000 Palestinians, including 250 sentenced to life in prison, would be released from Israeli prisons in accordance with a deal to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

On October 9, Israel and Hamas signed an agreement on a cease-fire and the release of hostages after indirect talks in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt. According to the agreement, the fighting will cease, Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, and Hamas will release all remaining hostages in exchange for prisoners held in Israel. The ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip entered into force on October 10 at 12:00 Moscow time.
