- The wife of a man who disappeared on a boat in Primorye spoke about the progress of the search
The search for Andrei Varchenko, a 42-year—old resident of Vladivostok who disappeared on a boat at sea, is currently underway in the area where his phone was last detected - near the settlements of Slavyanka and Posyet. His wife Irina told Izvestia about this on October 13.
"The last time, indeed, there was information that he was in the Posyet area, this information was still on the eighth (on October 8. — Ed.) I hired boats that searched everything from Slavyanka to the north and south, I was there yesterday (October 11. — Ed.) in the Village, I looked at all the bays," she said.
The woman clarified that helicopters were also involved in the search, which took off twice and examined the entire water area. According to her, the search for the man is currently underway on its own, while the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation expressed its readiness, if there is information about the approximate location of the missing vessel, to reconnect to them.
Currently, his daughter, brother and niece are in the area where Andrei Varchenko's smartphone was last seen.
The woman added that her husband went to sea for pleasure and definitely planned to return on the same day.
Varchenko's disappearance became known on the same day. According to the information of the search organization "Primpoisk", the man went sailing on a Yamaha boat without inscriptions on board. His ship was covered with burgundy covers. According to the niece, her uncle is alive, but he cannot return home on his own and is currently at sea on a boat.
