The United States may send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if the conflict cannot be resolved. This was announced on October 12 by the American leader Donald Trump.

"If this conflict cannot be resolved, I will send them Tomahawk missiles," he told reporters.

In addition, commenting on his conversation with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, the US president noted that Kiev had requested Patriot and Tomahawk missiles from Washington for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). According to him, the NATO states will pay for all Ukrainian expenses.

He also described the conversation with the head of the Kiev regime as "good."

On October 10, the American magazine The National Interest (NI) reported that Zelensky hopes that possible supplies of Tomahawk missiles will provoke Russia to respond harshly, which will contribute to NATO's involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.

Prior to that, on October 6, the US president announced that he had actually made a decision on the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, but did not announce it. According to him, first of all, he plans to figure out exactly how the allocated shells will be used. At the same time, as emphasized in The Washington Post, if the head of the White House nevertheless decides to supply Tomahawk, this will confirm his choice of a way to escalate the conflict.
