A weak magnetic storm began on Earth, which was predicted by scientists. This was reported to TASS on October 12 at the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG").

It is reported that at the moment the degree of disturbance of the magnetic field is at the level of G1 ("weak") on a scale where G5 is "extremely strong".

On October 12, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that the Earth found itself inside a stream of solar wind emanating from a coronal hole in the Sun, much earlier than expected. Based on current observations, warnings about the onset of magnetic storms are expected over the next 3-4 hours.
