Anna Shukhman from Orenburg became the youngest winner of the Russian Chess Championship Superfinal at the age of 16. The tournament was held on October 12 at the Mikhail Botvinnik Central House of Chess in Moscow.

Shukhman scored 7 points after 11 rounds and in the final stage beat competitor Leia Garifullina, who took second place in the championship.

The girl received a prize fund of 700 thousand rubles.

On September 14, the Moscow Seasons press service announced that the results of the "Heroes of the Chessboard: Moscow" blitz tournament had been summed up in Moscow. Grandmaster Boris Savchenko became the winner, Alexander Usov took the second place, and Andrey Tsvetkov took the third. The prize fund was 1.75 million rubles: the winner received one million, the silver medalist 500 thousand and the bronze medalist 250 thousand.
