Anna Shukhman became the youngest Russian chess champion

Anna Shukhman from Orenburg became the youngest winner of the Russian Chess Championship Superfinal at the age of 16. The tournament was held on October 12 at the Mikhail Botvinnik Central House of Chess in Moscow.

Shukhman scored 7 points after 11 rounds and in the final stage beat competitor Leia Garifullina, who took second place in the championship.

The girl received a prize fund of 700 thousand rubles.

The prize fund was 1.75 million rubles: the winner received one million, the silver medalist 500 thousand and the bronze medalist 250 thousand.
