Lukashenko's press secretary told about his birthday gift to Putin

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will present Russian President Vladimir Putin with a painting of the "wonderful landscapes" of Valaam on his birthday. This was announced on October 12 by the press secretary of the Belarusian leader Natalia Eismont.

"I can tell you: This is a fairly large—scale and very beautiful picture," the state-owned BelTA news agency quoted the press secretary as saying on the Belarus 1 TV channel.

She clarified that this painting was painted by Belarusian artist Pavel Maslennikov by special order. Eismont added that Lukashenko would personally give his gift to Putin.

Earlier, on October 7, the Kremlin reported that more than 40 foreign leaders, including Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had congratulated the Russian president on his birthday.
