The Central Bank of Russia has canceled a vote on the design of a new 500-ruble banknote. The relevant information was posted on the regulator's website on October 12.

"We have encountered a large number of attempts by technical means to increase the number of votes for some objects. This will not allow us to summarize the objective results of the vote," the message says.

The Central Bank announced that it would hold a new vote with the same list of symbol options that would be placed on the bill, but would exclude "the possibility of unfair actions."
