During the clash with the Afghan military, 58 Pakistani soldiers were killed and 30 others were injured. This was announced on October 12 by the official representative of Afghanistan, Zabiullah Mujahid.

"During the retaliatory operations of the Islamic Emirate conducted through the Durand line, a significant number of weapons were also seized," TOLO News portal quoted him as saying.

On the Afghan side, Mujahid said, nine fighters were also killed and 16 were injured. The Afghan military destroyed 20 Pakistani security posts.

"Afghanistan has the right to defend its airspace and territorial integrity and will not leave any attack unanswered," the military said at a press conference.

On the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced the completion of the operation launched on the evening of October 11 on the border with Pakistan. The Afghan Air Force's airstrike on Pakistan's positions in the city of Lahore became known a day earlier. This act was, as specified, a response to recent Pakistani shelling of Afghan territory.

TOLOnews reported on October 10 that at least five soldiers were killed and two others were injured as a result of this escalation. It was also clarified that Afghan forces had captured two military posts in Pakistan.
