Polish racer Senkowski died in a rally accident.
Racing driver Artur Senkovsky died in an accident at the stage of the Polish Rally Championship in Nys. This was reported on October 12 by the TVP channel.
The BMW racing car, in which the 40-year-old driver and navigator Maciej Krzysik was, went off the course on one of the sections of the track and crashed into a tree. After the impact, the car immediately caught fire.
"Security services immediately appeared at the scene of the incident. Unfortunately, the driver could not be saved. The burned navigator was removed from the car and transported to the hospital," the police said.
Emergency services personnel are working at the scene of the tragedy under the supervision of the prosecutor's office. The police are collecting evidence and investigating the circumstances that led to the accident. The race was immediately stopped.
In July, Bulgarian pilot Georgy Donchev's car caught fire at the GT World Europe racing series in the Italian city of Misano. His Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 crashed into a bump and ignited after a collision with a rival. Donchev managed to quickly leave the burning car and was not injured.
